Hot Rod Power Tour 2012: Day Six, Stillwater, Ok

Another day, another day that the alarm did not go off. Thankfully the Hot Rods outside woke me up at 7:30. After a mad dash to the donut shop… that wasn’t that good. Our small group of Mopars headed out towards Stillwater with fresh air in our lungs and donuts in our bellies. It was a beautiful day to cruise!

Our friends with the Imperial, 70 Daytona had a friend meetup with them in his original 69 Charger Daytona and he joined us the rest of the way. It was a really beautiful drive going through the bottom of the Ozarks. Lots of cool things to see and do, wish we had more time to do them in!

After a little issue with some stop lights, and gas stations NOT having anything but 87 Octane… I caught up to my group and shot some really cool stuff on our way to gas station #3.

We finally found a gas station with premium and filled up. Right next door was a Buffalo Wild Wings, so we filled out bellies as well. Nothing like a few parking spots taken up by some Mopars.

Got stuck in a huge backup because the two lane road was down to one lane becaue of shoulder construction. But it was the perfect time for the Hot Rod crew to grab some pictures.

And I did as well. Wave hi to the MoPowered Tour.

Unfortunately right after this, a medium black dog was hit and killed by a 60’s Chevrolet Impala. We saw the guy get out of the Impala and walk up to the front of his car, and start swearing about how much damage and getting very angry. Never even checked on the dog, didn’t even look like he thought about the dog at all. Didn’t even tell anyone to go see about it, another car parked and looked the dog over and said it was dead from what I heard. So sad.
There was nothing for us to do now, we headed out and made out way to R K Machine where we were suppose to see the Kirk Auto Museum in the afternoon. Unfortunately he never showed up. So here are some pictures around his shop and outside the bank.

We finally got into Stillwater and we were told yesterday that there was a venue change. The Kicker Audio headquarters could not handle us after the rains had soaked the grounds. So we went to Oklahoma State University grounds. There was no rhyme or reason to the parking lots or where things were. Thankfully all the manufacturers were located on the main street. The thing that sucked though was both Stabil and Royal Purple rain out of magnets at around 4:30. Every other day they had plenty, but today, NOPE! But it was all made up for by the coolest car there. A 1969 Dodge Charger R/T that was pulled out of the barn, made drivable and is actually driven all the time.

Afterwards we hit up Bad Brads BBQ here in town and it was good. And it is kinda interesting getting recognized more and more. Here is someone that knew me from the blogs. Told him I would put him in it! He and his family were shocked!

Then back to the hotel room for a burnout contest and to relax. Tomorrow is the last travel day already!
